Ingredients
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 1.5 cup millet flour (bajri flour)
- 1 cup finely chopped fenugreek leaves (methi)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon green chilly paste
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1/2 spoon turmeric powder
- 1 spoon Kashmiri red chilly powder
- 1/4 spoon asafoetida (hing)
- 1 tablespoon achaari sambharo
- 2 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2-3 tablespoon oil
- 2 tablespoon curd
- Water as required
Method
Mix wheat flour and millet flour in a bowl. Wash and rinse the fenugreek leaves and add them to the bowl. Add all the remaining ingredients listed above to the bowl and mix thoroughly. Then add some water to the mixture and prepare a smooth dough.
Take out small balls from this dough. Take one such dough ball, flatten it in the shape of a wada, and press it with your fingers so that the impression of your fingers stays on it. Fry these wadas on slow flame till they brownish in color. If you use a high flame instead of a slow flame, there are chances of the wadas remaining uncooked on the inside. Once the wadas are brownish in color, take them out of the frying pan, and let them cool. Then store them in an air-tight container.
These wadas typically last for 3-4 days and are a tasty festive/ winter snack.
If you need to add sweetness to these wadas, you can mix 2 spoons of chopped jaggery in the curd.
